So many thinkers have influenced me on my journey to Mussels and Lovage. Here are some links to resources for mental health, mindfulness, cooking, and eating.
Mental Health First Aid — this is a powerful program — free to NYC residents! — that provides you with the basics tools to help others who are struggling with mental health issues.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has been my path to greater resilience and decreased anxiety. I highly recommend learning more. Great books include Full Catastrophe Living by John Kabat-Zinn, Heal Thy Self by Saki Santorelli, and The Heart of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction: a MBSR Guide for Clinicians and Clients by Elana Rosenbaum.
Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones was my introduction to writing practice so many years ago and is still a home for my soul.
My first meditation teacher Ralph De La Rosa has a wonderful book out, The Monkey is the Messenger. I was fortunate to read the manuscript in the early stages and provide a little guidance to this beautiful project.
Here is a recipe for Steamed Mussels With Lovage from the New York Times.
